The striker’s representative has revealed the Uruguayan is happy in Naples and is not looking to depart the Italian side – despite growing interest from a number of clubs

Edinson Cavani will not be leaving Napoli because he “loves the club”, according to his agent Gennaro Famiglietti.

The Uruguay international has had a number of sides interested in acquiring his services, including Premier League champions Manchester City, who reportedly have not been put off despite Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis insisting the €71 million release clause in Cavani’s contract must be met.

However, the player’s representative Famiglietti says this is an irrelevance as the 26-year-old is happy at Napoli.

“Cavani loves the club and the city,” he told Italian radio station Kiss Kiss.

“Few clubs can pay the price for Cavani and this will determine his future. There is no agreement with anybody.

However, Famiglietti has urged Napoli to improve their current squad in order to match Cavani’s ambition.

He added: “We have already said that he is ready to stay if the squad can become stronger and new signings can arrive.

“The player is ambitious and wants to win titles with Napoli.
