I can’t decide if Clasie will come to Porto – Martins Indi

The Netherlands international centre-back appears keen to link up with his former Feyenoord team-mate again, but says rumours of a move are “none of his business”

Porto centre-back Bruno Martins Indi has hinted that he would like to see Netherlands international team-mate Jordy Clasie join him in Portugal, although he is unsure whether it is currently on the cards.

Clasie, 23, has been linked with a move to the Portuguese giants from Feyenoord, where he has been since joining their youth system as a nine-year-old. While Martins Indi hinted that he would like another Dutchman with him in Porto, he said he knows nothing about any potential deal.

“I have no idea if Jordy Clasie will come to Porto,” he told NOS. “I do speak with him, but I don’t decide who comes to Porto. It’s none of my business either.”

The defender was speaking after Julen Lopetegui’s took a step towards the Champions League proper following a 1-0 playoff first-leg win over Lille – a result that the 22-year-old, who left Feyenoord earlier this summer, feels was just.

“We had more possession in the first half, but after half-time it was a more open match. We scored an important goal so it looks well for us,” he said.

“We know we still have to do it in the second match.”

Porto will welcome Lille to the Estadio do Dragao next Tuesday for the vital second leg.
