The Netherlands international was set to leave the club for free at the end of the season but remains tied to the Eredivisie champions for one more year

Jetro Willems has signed a new contract with PSV which keeps him tied to the club until June 2018.

The Netherlands international’s previous deal was due to expire at the end of this season and the likes of Liverpool and Everton had been credited with an interest in the left-back.

However, Willems has now inked a one-year extension in order to make sure PSV receive a transfer fee if he decides to seek pastures new in the future.

“I told sporting director Marcel Brands last season that I would not leave PSV on a free transfer,” Willems commented on his renewal.
