The new Crystal Palace boss will hope to use the winter transfer window to boost his squad for Premier League survival and wants no fewer than four new players

New Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce will be handed £20 million to spend in the January transfer market, according to the Daily Star.

The ex-England boss was confirmed at Selhurst Park on Friday and intends to spend the winter strengthening his squad to earn Premier League survival.

Allardyce had already submitted a list of names to club chairman Steve Parish as part of the interview process and the 62-year-old is understood to want four new players, with a midfielder and a defender topping the list.
