The Portuguese full-back doesn’t want to change clubs during the January transfer window and is set to head to Camp Nou on a five-year contract next summer

Barcelona have agreed a deal to sign Joao Cancelo on a five-year contract from Valencia, according to Sport.

Cancelo has been linked with the likes of Bayern Munich and Chelsea, but Barcelona have reportedly acted now to fend off competition for the Portuguese right-back.

Talks have reportedly been held with Cancelo’s agent Jorge Mendes and personal terms have been agreed for the defender to move to Camp Nou at the end of the season.

Valencia will demand €30 million for Cancelo, according to reports, but Barcelona are willing to meet that fee in order to solve a problem area in their squad.
