Chelsea are unwilling to release the bit-part striker despite him struggling to break into the first team given the form of Eden Hazard and Diego Costa

Michy Batshuayi won’t leave Chelsea in January despite a lack of playing time, Antonio Conte confirmed after his side’s 3-0 win over Bournemouth.

Hazard can also conquer the Premier League for Chelsea

Despite Diego Costa missing his first league game of the season due to suspension, Batshuayi failed to feature until stoppage time with Eden Hazard starting up front instead.

The Belgian signed from Marseille in the summer for €40 million but has only featured for less than 90 minutes combined over 11 Premier League appearances.

However, Conte insisted that Batshuayi still has a future at Stamford Bridge and will be unavailable to move in January despite multiple clubs reportedly lining up for a loan move.

“No, he is a new player and to go on loan now is a defeat for the club and for me,” Conte told reporters. “It is important to focus and to improve. I want to win and every decision I make is because I want to win”

“I have to take the best decision, that sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s positive and negative. Today I wanted to give him the opportunity to play and to have another appearance this season.

“It happened at the end, but I think that we have to continue to work with him every day to try together to improve him. To bring him in the best condition to help us in this league.”

“I think that Michy Batshuayi is a really good player, but he’s a young player and he’s trying to adapt to this league, this football.

“I try to make the best decision for the team, but I’m sure Michy could be the possibility to show his talent in the future”

Costa will return to Chelsea’s first team against Stoke City and Batshuayi will likely have to wait until Chelsea’s FA Cup third round match against Peterborough United for his next start.
