The Red Devils have been strongly linked with the Benfica defender but Jose Mourinho has reportedly decided to stick with Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo

Manchester United will not move to sign Benfica defender Victor Lindelof in the January transfer window, according to BBC Sport.

Widespread reports have linked the Red Devils with a bid for the Swedish defender, but the report claims that the form of Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo has convinced Jose Mourinho he does not need to buy.

United also have Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Daley Blind to choose from in central defence, though they will lose Bailly for up to a month in the New Year to the Africa Cup of Nations.
