City boss Guardiola requires a left-back who can also play in a central position, something which the Spurs man has shown he can do

Tottenham’s Ben Davies has emerged as a target for Manchester City, according to reports from The Sun.

The 23-year-old has made three Premier League starts for Spurs this season and is equally adept at both left-back and in a central defensive role, something which Pep Guardiola is looking for as he attempts to shuffle his defensive unit.

Davies is currently behind Danny Rose in the White Hart lane pecking order, though Mauricio Pochettino is thought to be keen to hold onto him as a a back-up option.

Though primarily a left-back, Davies was deployed at centre-back for Wales during Euro 2016 and is seen as a potential short-term replacement for Vincent Kompany.
