RUMOURS: Arsenal suggested Alexis trade

With time on the Chile star’s contract winding down, the Gunners were willing to offload him to Juventus in exchange for Miralem Pjanic

Arsenal wanted to use Alexis Sanchez as a bargaining chip to sign Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic, according to Tuttosport.

The Premier League side have yet to agree a contract extension with the Chile international, who previously played in Serie A with Udinese.

Instead of offloading him for a reduced price, they wanted to use him as leverage to sign the Bosnia star.

Juve have been interested in Alexis for several seasons, and wished to sign the ex-Udinese and Barcelona ace to complete a star South American offensive line with Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala.

However, the Serie A champions rejected Arsenal’s offer.
