Leonardo Bonucci has arrived to complete his move from Juventus to AC Milan in a deal worth around €40 million.

The Italy international was given a hero’s welcome as he pulled up at the club’s Casa Milan training base, where he will undergo a medical and finalise his transfer from the Serie A champions.

The move appears to be a huge coup for Milan, who only finished sixth in Italy’s top flight but have still managed to convince one of Europe’s top defenders to join them.

Manchester City had appeared a more realistic destination for Bonucci, although it is understood the centre-back would prefer to continue his career in Italy.

Although Juve selling to their Serie A rivals will come as a blow to the club’s supporters, with Bonucci having played a fundamental role in their success in recent years that has seen them win six league titles in a row.
