The business that looks after Neymar’s affairs confirmed it has begun legal action against Barcelona over alleged unpaid bonuses for the forward.
Barcelona declined to pay a €26 million bonus included in Neymar’s contract renewal signed in 2016 after completing his world-record transfer to Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

Furthermore, the Brazilian faces legal action from the Catalans over an alleged breach of contract.
The club contended in a statement that the clause relating to the payment was rendered null and void when he left Camp Nou, while agent and father Neymar Sr. has accused Barca of “blackmail”.
Now NN Consultoria has announced it will be pursuing the bonus through the courts in its own counter-suit as the business registered its “surprise” at Barca’s stance over the matter.
“It falls on us to explain that the athlete Neymar Junior and his lawyers are aware of the statement released today [for Tuesday] by Barcelona,” the statement reads.
“We must emphasise that the news was received with surprise, since the athlete fulfilled the former contract, with the full deposit of the sums freely agreed with Barcelona allowing for his release.
“Nevertheless, when the citation has been read and Barcelona’s complaint analysed, the athlete’s defence will be present.
“With regards to the bonuses owed from the 2016 contract signing, openly unpaid by Barcelona, it also falls on us to confirm that the athlete has already initiated legal proceedings for collection through the appropriate channels.”
The unpaid loyalty bonus is also being investigated by FIFA, although the world governing body has so far declined to comment on the matter.
Claudio Marchisio has confirmed that he is staying Juventus, despite links with Chelsea.
Reports earlier this week suggested that the Italy international had aired his desire to leave the Serie A giants, with Antonio Conte’s men ready to pounce.

But Goal understands that Juventus are not willing to sell their star, with potential suitors Milan also not interested in bringing him to San Siro.
Marchisio has now rebuffed any speculation that he could leave Juve, posting a tweet with the translation: “Sometimes words do not work. Sometimes, no words needed”.
Juventus CEO Beppe Marotta added: “It’s a situation which we’ve read or heard about. Symptoms of dissatisfaction absolutely do not exist at all within the club, Marchisio is part of this squad which increases its level of quality year-on-year, and also in midfield we’re different to a few years ago because there’s more competition.”
The 31-year-old has been at Juventus since 1993, making 370 apperances for the senior side, scoring 37 goals and providing 41 assists.
Marchisio has won six Serie A titles, Serie B, the Suppercoppa Italiana and the Coppa Italia during his time at Juventus, and has also won 55 caps for Italy.
At international level the cultured midfielder has a European Championship silver medal, and also won a bronze medal at the 2013 Confederations Cup.
Craig Dawson has committed his future to Premier League club West Brom by signing a new contract.
Versatile defender Dawson has agreed a three-year deal on improved terms, with his old contract having been set to expire at the end of the season.

Dawson spent most of last season playing at right-back for Tony Pulis’ side, but, with reported Manchester City target Jonny Evans and Gareth McAuley missing the start of the season through injury, the 27-year-old has formed a strong partnership in central defence with Egypt international Ahmed Hegazi.
The Baggies have kept back-to-back clean sheets in wins over Bournemouth and Burnley and Dawson is keen to maintain the team’s perfect early season record.
“I’ve always felt very settled here and I’m delighted to have reached this agreement,” said the Englishman, who has been at The Hawthorns since joining from Rochdale in 2010.
“It has been quite a journey so far, but I still feel there is a lot more of the journey to come. I’ve watched the club come through a challenging spell and like to feel I have played my part in helping us improve, step by step.
“I try to be consistent and play my part for the team. But it never gets any easier at this level and as a footballer I know I’ve got to keep improving. That’s my target every day and every game.
“Ahmed has done really well and I have enjoyed playing alongside him. It’s been a good solid start from the team and we just want to keep these results coming. That’s all we’re focused on.”
Next up for Pulis’ men, who beat Accrington Stanley in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, is the visit of the manager’s former club Stoke City on Sunday.
Chelsea have been dealt a blow as reported target Antonio Candreva’s agent has declared the midfielder is set to stay with Inter.
Blues manager Antonio Conte worked with Candreva during his time in charge of Italy, and was reportedly keen to add the 30-year-old to his current side.
The Italy international joined Inter last summer from Lazio, scoring six goals and adding 10 assists in his debut Serie A campaign with the Nerazzurri.

“Candreva believes that he will stay,” Pastorello said.
“His desire is to continue at Inter and the club and [Inter manager Luciano] Spalletti have said the same.
“So I believe this season he will remain at Inter, but in January Chelsea wanted him.”
Candreva played the full match as Inter defeated Fiorentina 3-0 on Saturday in their Serie A opener.
Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne says playing for Barcelona would be a “dream”, but claims he is happy at the Serie A club.
