Manchester United have made their first signing of the transfer season after the club’s website confirmed having ‘reached an agreement’ with the Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund over Shinji Kagawa’s transfer.
The 23 year old Japanese was considered to be a top target for the Reds this summer and after weeks of speculation they have finally managed to land the highly rated playmaker. The recently voted Bundesliga player of the year has been the subject of interest of many clubs including Arsenal but United have finally beaten them to his signature.
The transfer amount is yet unknown although it is believed to be in the region of £17m, but the club’s website has confirmed that deal has been struck and is subject ‘to the player medical and obtaining a work permit in UK’. Kagawa forged a lethal partnership with Lewandowski at Dortmund and is expected to play a similar role alongside Wayne Rooney at Manchester.
Shinji Kagawa joins a host of top players who have recently joined the Premier League, and everybody hopes that he’ll be one of the best out there.
