The French team got a major boost ahead of the Euros as coach Laurent Blanc revealed that midfielders Yann M’Vila and Blaise Matuidi are recovering well and might as well be fit in time to face England next Monday.
This will come as a sweet surprise for the French fans as very recently it was reported that M’Vila could miss a major part of the Euros after he got injured against Serbia in a friendly. Blanc stated that he is hopeful that the Rennes midfielder would be able to play some part in their fixture against the English.
“He’s doing better, much better,” said Blanc. “He’s an important element.
“There’s also the injury to Blaise, which is going in the right direction.
“They’re significant injuries and it’ll be very tight for the first match but there’s still a chance of a pleasant surprise.”
This news will indeed be music to the ears of Arsene Wenger as the Gunners’ manager has been hoping to sign him this summer until the Rennes star picked up an ankle injury which was earlier expected to keep him out of action for a longer period of time. This will boost Arsenal’s chances of signing the 21 year old now that Wenger is fully convinced that the player’s injury is not a serious one. The manager might as well initiate negotiations with the Ligue 1 side as soon as the Euro championships are over, and seeing M’Vila in the Premiership will surely be a treat.
