Arsenal right back Bacary Sagna is set to miss the start of the next season due to the broken leg that he suffered in the dying stages of the last edition of Premier league.
The French defender has had a horrible time dealing with injuries last season and it is about to get worse as he is expected to miss the beginning of next season. This means that Sagna, who is already missing the action at the Euros, wouldn’t be able to accompany the squad for the pre-season to the Far East and Nigeria.
This injury will pave the way for Arsenal young star Carl Jenkinson who joined the club from Charlton last season. But if rumors would have it right, Wenger is looking for a better back up for the injury plagued Bacary Sagna in the transfer market.
Right now, enjoying his holidays Sagna expressed his severe disappointment in having to miss out on the Euros. But he is hopeful that in spite of his absence, France would do well this time.
Sagna said: “The French national team has come a long way since the World Cup and they will be keen to show that.
“They are playing well, are on a good run and should feel confident going into the Euros.
“I am so disappointed to miss it, but I believe France can win.
“It is a big test for France, because I know a lot of the English players but I believe we can win the game and have a strong squad which is together again.”
The French will face England in their first match of the Euros this evening.
