Liverpool are understood to be closely following the situation of Eljero Elia at Juventus after the winger sounded out his suitors by announcing his decision to leave the Turin giants.
Liverpool are in rebuilding mode as their new manager Brendan Rodgers is looking for new signings which could improve the strength of their squad. With the departure of Dirk Kuyt to Fenerbahce, the former Swansea boss has areas to fill and is expected to sign the 25 year old Dutch winger this summer.
In a recent interview to Eredivisie Live, ELia said “I’ll leave Juventus. I’ve already agreed with Juventus that I will be joining another club.
“I just have the desire to start enjoying football again and my agent is evaluating all offers.”
The former Hamburg man who moved to Juventus in the summer of 2011 has had a forgettable season in Italy after just managing 4 appearances for the newly crowned Serie A champions. Elia is now keen to resurrect his career and a move to Premier League could be welcome to the Dutchman.
