Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani is one of the hottest properties in the transfer market this summer as Premier league champions Manchester City and European champions Chelsea will have to compete with Serie A champions Juventus for the prolific striker’s signature.
The 25 year old has had a terrific season at Napoli and have drawn the interest of top clubs all over Europe. Manchester City have been dormant in the transfer market so far as but it could soon change as the newly crowned England champions are looking to sign Cavani as the departures of Edin Dzeko and Carlos Tevez are anticipated. Chelsea meanwhile, have splurged close to £40m already and are still looking for a possible replacement for their talismanic striker Didier Drogba. With the deal involving Hulk hanging in the balance, the Londoners are considering all possible alternatives as Porto have apparently put them off with their astonishing asking price.
Juventus coach Anotnio Conte is also keen on adding a quality striker to the squad and are ready to invest this summer to compete for the Champions league crown next season. The Turin club has already been linked to Robin Van Persie and Carlos Tevez but it is learned that there are serious questions marks over the availability of the two mentioned. The most successful club in Italian football has hence turned their attention to the Uruguayan who has had two great seasons at Napoli back to back.
It is highly unlikely that Napoli would sell their star striker this summer with Ezequiel Lavezzi’s move to PSG almost certain. But with the three clubs in picture all willing to sheell out anything in excess of £25m , the talented South American would be difficult to hold on to for the Azurris.
