Chelsea eye Ben Arfa as Hulk deal hangs in balance

Chelsea’s summer shopping isn’t done yet as the latest to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is Newcastle United’s quick footed Hatem Ben Arfa.

Chelsea have already managed to acquire the services of Marko Marin and Eden Hazard this summer for a cumulative sum of £40m. With Hulk’s impending move to Chelsea still in the balance, the Londoners could very well end up spending close to £100m this summer transfer window. It is believed that Porto’s strong stance over the Brazilian’s value has possibly put off the deal and Abramovich has now turned to a cheaper alternative.

The French winger is right now playing for his country at the Euros and it is still not clear if he would be keen on this move given the competition he would have to face to make it into the starting team. Newcastle are genuinely eager to build on their successful last season and their manager Alan Pardew is desperate to hold on to his stars. An offer in excess of £25m for the former Marseille player could be too good to turn down for the club officials.

Chelsea value the Toon star somewhere near £18m which would likely prove to be insufficient to prize him away from St. George’s this summer. Who is next in line for a Chelsea move?
