PSG to steal Hulk from Chelsea grasp?

Big spenders PSG are set to rival Chelsea for the signature of Porto winger Hulk after the Blues reached a deadlock with the Portuguese club over a possible transfer involving the player.

PSG, owned by the Qatar Investment Authority and managed by former Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti, are believed to be willing to match Porto’s asking fee of £40m for the player and could steal him from right under the nose of the European champions. The Londoners’ interest in the Brazilian star is well documented but Porto’s evaluation of the player at £40m is said to have put off the deal. The Blues have already spent close to £40m this summer over two players Eden Hazard and Marko Marin, the former joining them from Lille for an astonishing £32m.

Roman Abramovich is attempting to build his squad around Fernando Torres and get some quality young players this summer. With Financial Fair Play due to be introduced shortly, the Russian billionaire is skeptical about meeting Porto’s demands. Although the 25 year old is keen on a move to the Stamford Bridge, the deal is nowhere near completion as many would imagine it to be.
