M’Vila’s Move To Arsenal Stalls

The potential transfer of Yann M’Vila from Rennes to Arsenal is in serious doubt after the latest spat between the player and French coach Laurent Blanc following France’s exit from the Euros.

M’Vila’s move to Arsenal has been dragged over a month now and the player’s disciplinary issues have added a further twist to the transfer saga. Arsene Wenger is a firm admirer of the 21 year old and had held talks with Ligue 1 side about the player’s availability. The Gunner coach wants to strengthen his squad this summer and has already shored up his attacking department with strikers Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud. The Rennes star has been one of the top transfer targets for the Londoners but his off field indiscipline has forced Wenger to rethink his decision.

M’Vila was involved in a spat with French coach Laurent Blanc along with Hatem Ben Arfa, Jeremy Menez and former Gunner Samir Nasri. This incident however, isn’t a one off as the player has a history of being involved in such which has somewhat tarnished the young star’s image. He has been arrested thrice over the last couple of years for offenses ranging from road rage to manhandling a restaurant owner.

Wenger is convinced of the player’s ability but is unsure of the dressing room problems that he would bring along. The officials at the Emirates will reassess the whole situation and take a final call next week after the team gets together for the pre-season training.
