Out of favor Arsenal defender Johan Djorou is under the radar of Serie A side Napoli and the clubs are said to have opened talks over a possible transfer.
The 25 year old Swiss center half, who joined the Gunners as a teenager back in 2003, has found himself further down in the pecking order last season with Arsene Wenger opting for Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny, Thomas Vermaelen and Sebastian Squillaci ahead of him. After spending large parts of the last season on the sidelines and occasionally filling in for the injured Bacary Sagna at right back, the player is keen to move in search of regular football.
Swiss national team coach Ottmar Hitzfeld has advised Djorou to secure a move elsewhere to boost his chances in international football. Juventus were earlier rumored to be interested in him but according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, it is Napoli who have established first contact. The clubs are currently negotiating over the price with the Gunners looking for a fee close to £6.3m.
