Serie A champions Juventus will open talks with Liverpool soon over the possible transfer of their Uruguayan forward Luis Suarez this summer.
Juventus have been planning on buying a world class striker this summer as they plan to compete for the European silverware next season. The Turin giants have been linked to Carlos Tevez of Manchester City and Robin Van Persie of Arsenal in the past. But it seems that Luis Suarez has emerged as the frontrunner to join the club ahead of the next season.
According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, the club’s Sporting Director Giuseppe Marrotta will travel to Merseyside in the coming week to hold talks with the Liverpool officials over the transfer. Suarez, 25, is also believed to keen on moving after another disappointing season at Anfield meant the Reds would not feature in the Champions League next season. The prospect of playing Champions League for the Azzurris excites him.
The former Ajax frontman, who had been prolific for the Eredivisie side , has had a good season in front of goal for the Reds scoring 17 in all competition and setting up another seven.
