Real To Hijack Chelsea Transfer Target?

La Liga champions Real Madrid are all set to steal Chelsea target Maicon after Jose Mourinho stepped up the pursuit of the Brazilian defender.

Inter Milan are in a process of rebuilding their squad and are clearing out the deadwoods as head coach Andrea Stramaccioni aims to put behind a forgettable season for the Nerrazuris. Inter have already offloaded Uruguayan striker Diego Forlan and Brazilian center half Lucio to Internacional and Serie A champions Juventus respectively.

Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo is still in search of a right back as the club looks to replace Jose Bosingwa who was released earlier this summer. Paolo Ferreira is also likely to follow in the footsteps of his countryman which has left the Blues in dire needs of a right sided defender. Plenty of names have been linked with the European champions already including Dortmund star Lukasz Piszczek and Ajax defender Gregory Van der Wiel.  But the Stamford Bridge officials have consensually agreed upon Maicon as the ideal replacement for Bosingwa.

Real Madrid, who are on the verge of closing a deal for Spurs midfielder Luka Modric, are looking to sign the 31 year old Inter player. Manager Jose Mourinho is a firm admirer of the Samba ace having worked with him closely during his Inter days and is ready to launch a £10m bid for the player.
