Chelsea don’t have Oscar yet, need to improve offer

Chelsea have been asked to revise their offer for Oscar as their present one doesn’t meet the expectations of Internacional according to their club President.

Reports of Chelsea signing the Brazilian teen sensation Oscar was all over the English media last week but it is learnt that the deal is not yet through. Repots in the South American nation quoted the transfer figure to be around £20m but Internacional President Giovanni Luigi has insisted Chelsea need to improve their offer.

The young striker shot to prominence with a brilliant hat trick in the U 20 World Cup final in Portugal last summer. The young star has since been followed keenly by top clubs across Europe including Real Madrid but Tottenham were believed to be the frontrunners to land the teen prodigy. However, it seems that former Chelsea boss Andre Villas Boas may still have a chance to lure the young star to White Hart Lane as the Blues have been asked to better their offer.

Speaking to Brazilian radio station Radio Gaucha, Luigi said: “To let the player go, we have to make sure that from an economic point of view the sale is one of the most important in the history of Brazilian football, because the boy will be a world star. And right now the offer from Chelsea does not reach those levels.”
