No Chelsea Move For German Star?

Young German Andre Schurrle, thought to be on English side Chelsea’s radar, is set to stay put at current club Bayer Leverkusen, according to his general manager Rudi Voller.

The midfielder has impressed scouts from various clubs by his performances, which have not only earned him plaudits and interest from several clubs, but also a spot in the German national team, at just 21 years of age.

European champions Chelsea, who are in the hunt for a young prolific playmaker, have set their sights on Schurrle among others, as they look to inject some fresh blood into their ageing squad.

Amidst strong interest from London, Leverkusen’s general manager Voller has stepped in and put an end to all speculation by clearly stating that Schurrle will be a Bayer Leverkusen player next season. Speaking to kicker-Sportmagazin, he clarified, ”There is no alternative to the decision of not selling Andre Schurrle,”

“We are unable to sign a replacement.

“Those adequate players that are available are too expensive and therefore we would be forced to sign a weaker player overpriced.

“The matter is over with and I have also told Andre so.”
