After returning to training with Arsenal, club captain Robin van Persie has stated his wish of sitting down with manager Arsene Wenger and chief executive Ivan Gazidis to hold crunch talks regarding his future, and solve the matter at the earliest.
The Dutchman’s announcement a fortnight ago regarding his decision of not renewing his contract, which still has a year to run, has given renewed hope to clubs like Manchester City, Juventus and Real Madrid, who are circling around the striker, ready to pounce at the earliest possible chance.
With many expecting to see the 28-year old leave the Emirates Stadium this summer itself, van Persie wishes to make his future clear as soon as possible, and avoid a long drawn transfer saga, which could possibly turn sour.
A spokesperson for Arsenal revealed to The Sun, “Robin returned to training on Monday as expected and made it clear he wants to sit down and resolve the matter of his future, either way, as soon as possible.
No date has yet been agreed for that meeting.”
Now, the million dollar question is, will Robin van Persie stay at Arsenal ?
