English Premier League side Arsenal, along with Newcastle United and West Ham United, have been left behind by a shock bumper offer by little known Saudi side Al-Hilal for French club Rennes’ defender Abdou Kader Mangane.
The Senegal international, who has just a year left on his contract, is widely expected to leave the Ligue 1 outfit this summer, as Rennes look to cash in on their player, rather than risk losing him for free at the end of next season.
The English trio of Arsenal, Newcastle and West Ham have been credited with an interest, with West Ham reportedly coming close to signing the giant center-back after agreeing a £4 million deal. However, that deal has now broken down as Al-Hilal have jumped to the front of the queue for Mangane’s signature as they are willing to offer him a major pay rise, believed to be £70,000-a-week to quit the French club and join the unknown territories of football in Saudi.
It was widely believed that Mangane was set for a switch to England in the summer, but now this mega offer has turned his head.. Or has it?
