Arsenal’s Initial Bid For French Prodigy Rejected

French club Caen have rejected Arsenal’s initial bid for their young striker M’Baye Niang, and are adamant to allow the young star to leave only after the club’s valuation is met.

The French forward caught the attention of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who sees a lot of potential in the 17-year old, and wishes to bring him and nurture him at the Emirates Stadium, hoping to mould him into a superstar in the future.

Arsenal’s initial bid, thought to be around  £980,000, was rejected by Caen, who are holding out for more from the Gunners. Currently tied to Caen till 2014, the club have put a price tag of £1.4 million on the teenager, and flatly refuse to sell him for a fee anything lower than that amount.

Speaking to the local media, Caen’s president Jean-Francois Forlin revealed, ”The offer made by the English club did not reach the amount we want, but we are still in touch.”

With Arsenal rebuffed in their chase of this young sensation, will they come back with an improved offer?
