Arsenal have reportedly set aside £6 million for 17-year old striker M’Baye Niang, but they face domestic competition from Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspurs, along with Italian giants AC Milan.
The youngster, who spent last week on trial with the Gunners, impressed manager Arsene Wenger, who sees him as a long-term attacking prospect, and wishes to take him under his wing at an early age and mould him into a superstar.
The striker is allowed to quit his current club, French outfit Caen as they got relegated from Ligue 1. Though Arsenal are the front-runners for his signature, City and Tottenham have now entered the frame, with City ready to go up to £10 million for a 17-year old striker who obviously does not have a proven track record of scoring goals.
It is widely believed that the Gunners are ready to pay £6 million for the striker, as they look to strengthen their future attacking prospects with the capture of Niang.
Considered as one of French football’s rising stars, will Arsenal’s deep French roots help them capture this teenager?
