Inter Set To Steal Afellay From Arsenal Grip?

Inter playmaker Wesley Sneijder has urged his club to sign Bracelona winger and Dutch compatriot Ibrahim Afellay as Arsenal and Lille keep monitoring the situation.

Earlier we had reported that the Dutchman was ready to spurn the advances of Ligue 1 side Lille so as to secure a move to the Emirates this summer. However, Dutch captain and star player Wesley Sneijder has requested Inter officials tom act in haste and seal the transfer of the Barcelona reject.

Inter are themselves in rebuilding mode and have already offloaded their ageing duo of Lucio and Diego Forlan. Brazilian goalkeeper Julio Cesar and Serbian midfielder Dejan Stankovic are also expecetd to leave San Siro this summer with Massimo Morratti looking to add fresh faces to the squad.

Afellay spent most of last season recovering from a knee surgery, and with the Catalan club looking to strengthen their squad; they have decided to offload Afellay who is deemed surplus to their requirements at Camp Nou. He is deemed surplus tlo requirements at Camp Nou and could be a steal for a price of £6m.

Arsenal were considered to be the overwhelming favorites to sign the 26 year old this summer but with Inter in the fray the battle for Afellay could become interesting.
