Arsenal are believed to be preparing a £15m offer for highly rated Santos star Paulo Henrique Ganso after the club officials gave up on their efforts to keep Robin Van Persie at the club.
Van Persie has refused to sign a contract extension with the club he joined as a youngstar back in 2004 from Feyenoord. Arsene Wenger has reportedly has decided to ship off the Dutchman at the earliest so as to have enough time on his side to bring in a replacement for next season.
Ganso,22, has been linked with a move to the Premier League this transfer window after the player turned down an improved extension offer from the club. The player’s agent has also sounded out his suitors by declaring that the young promising midfielder has played his last in a Santos shirt. Ganso’s present contract however, runs till 2015 and the Brazilian club could refuse to let him leave if their valuation of the player is not met.
Meanwhile Neymar, Ganso’s teammate at Santos, has urged his Brazilian compatriot to stay at the club beyond this summer.
‘He hasn’t told me yet if he is going to leave but everyone wants to have someone like him in the team,’ Neymar told Lancenet.
‘I don’t know much about what is happening. But I ask him not to abandon me and I really hope he doesn’t leave.’
