Internacional President Giovanni Luigi has confirmed that they have reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea over the transfer of Oscar but paper work is yet to be done.
Days after rejecting Chelsea’s previous offer and asking them to improve it, Luigi has revealed that the transfer of Brazilian wonder kid Oscar is almost done. The 20 year old young star shot to prominence during the U 20 World Cup at Portugal last year and the European champions have been following him ever since. Oscar also impressed during Brazil’s friendly against Team GB in which the Samba nation ran off 2-0 winners.
Blues boss Roberto Di Matteo had stated in the club’s official website a few days back that the Oscar deal is yet to be finalized. But the terms of the deal seem to have been mutually agreed upon between the two clubs and the player is expected to be unveiled after the Olympics.
“There is a verbal agreement between the two parties. But we have to put that on paper and the lawyer of both clubs have to discuss the matter,” Luigi told Radio Guiaba.
Tottenham Hotspur were also in the race to sign the talented young South American but Chelsea have managed to beat them to it. Oscar becomes the third signing for the Blues this summer after Eden Hazard and Marko Marin joined earlier.
