Chelsea have almost finalized the deal to land young Brazilian playmaker Oscar, the player’s club Internacional’s president has confirmed.
The Blues have been on a massive spending spree this summer and they are the busiest club with the most activities in the Transfer window by a long margin as they have already made four summer signings and have offloaded three players.
Chelsea now are looking at the young Oscar, as they look to make him their fifth summer acquisition after yesterday confirming the transfer of Thorgan Hazard, who is the younger brother of fellow new recruit Eden Hazard.
Chelsea have been linked with Oscar in the last few weeks as they look to bring in youth and quality in their creative midfield area, and Oscar ticks all the boxes. Currently away with his national team for the Olympics being held in London itself, it is widely believed that a medical has already been passed, and the official announcement will be done at the conclusion of the Olympics.
The deal might have a small stumbling block, as Internacional’s president Giovanni Luigi spoke to Brazilian website www.terra.com.br and said, “The situation is very advanced, but not finalized yet.
“Oscar has to get his work permit. He needs to have a certain amount of caps to play in England, but I don’t believe that will be a problem.”
