English club Chelsea, along with their London rivals Arsenal will have to face-off against Italian giants AC Milan for the signature of Benfica’s highly sought-after striker Oscar Cardozo after reports emerging from Portugal claim that Milan are eyeing the hitman.
After the sale of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to French free-spending outfit Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan are in the market for a prolific goal-scorer who can fill the void left by the Swede. They have put down a few names, and Cardozo’s name is included in their shortlist.
European champions Chelsea too have been eyeing the 29-year old as their hunt for a top-class striker continues after the Hulk deal has supposedly fallen apart. Arsenal too have been credited with an interest in the attacker as they prepare themselves for a likely departure of their captain Robin van Persie.
It seems like the English duo will have to fend off this new interest from the Serie A outfit, as Portugese newspaper Record claim that Milan are keen on Cardozo’s signature, for a fee of £16.5 million being deemed sufficient.
