Chelsea have confirmed the capture of Thorgan Hazard, the younger brother of their summer recruit Eden Hazard.
The London club signed the 19-year old from Ligue 2 outfit Lens and made him their fourth summer signing after Marko Marin, Kevin de Bruyne and Thorgan’s elder brother Eden Hazard, who joined for a reported £32 million from French club Lille.
The young winger has only featured 11 times for Lens until Chelsea saw the teenager and snapped him up early, and are now poised to unite the two Hazard’s at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues are currently away on their pre-season tour, where they are set to play Italian giants AC Milan after their 1-1 draw against Paris Saint-Germain.
Thorgan Hazard’s transfer surely is good news for the Blues, as they have further strengthened their wide play, however many expect Chelsea to loan out Thorgan immediately.
“He will now join our Under-21 squad, managed by Dermot Drummy, to continue his pre-season training and a loan move is being considered to continue his development,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
