Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta has spoken of his admiration for rumored Gunner transfer target Santi Cazorla and hailed him as a ‘top player’.
Arteta moved to the Emirates last summer on the transfer deadline day from Everton and has since established himself as one of the key components of Arsene Wenger’s side. The Spaniard is thrilled at the prospect of linking up fellow countryman Santi Cazorla amid reports that the London club are readying a £16m move for the Malaga star. Cazorla, 27, was a part of the La Furia Roja’s Euro winning campaigns in 2008 and 2012 and is considered to be the next summer target for Wenger and his men.
The former Everton midfielder said: “I cannot talk about the actual situation but I can say that I know him as a player really well.
“And he’s a top, top player. He has got unbelievable quality and talent and that is all I can say.”
Gunner boss Arsene Wenger also agreed to Arteta’s views on the player and indicated at more new arrivals at the club this summer.
“I share the opinion of Mikel Arteta. Cazorla is a great player,” said Wenger.
“We bought Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski but we are not at the end of the transfers. We will still bring players in.”
