Chelsea finally land Brazilian wonderkid Oscar after weeks of negotiations for a fee believed to be close to £25m on a five year contract.
The 20 year old Internacional midfielder is regarded as one of the finest young talents in the world presently and his acquisition will largely bolster the Chelsea squad. Oscar, who is currently with his international team mates for the Olympics being held in London itself, has been chased by the Blues for weeks before finally sealing the deal.
The player is expected to appear for his medical after the conclusion of the London games and be unveiled officially at the Stamford Bridge soon after. The South American becomes the fourth signing for the European champions this summer as their Russian owner attempts to inject fresh and young talent into the side. Eden Hazard, his fellow brother Thorgan Hazard and Marko Marin have already sealed their moves to the club giving their boss Roberto Di Matteo a head ache in terms of team selection.
Chelsea currently have over ten midfielders at their disposal and are still being constantly linked to Andre Schurrle and Hulk. The net spending by the Blues is almost £65m and if the deal for Porto star Hulk goes through, it would touch hundred.
