Fiorentina striker Stefan Jovetic has his heart set on a move to Stadio delle Alpi amid intense interest from London teams Arsenal and Chelsea.
The 22 year old returned to action last season for the Florence club after missing out the entire 2010-11 season due to a cruciate ligament injury and impressed many with his performances in front of goal in the first half of the season. Nicknamed ‘Jo-Jo’ by fans, Jovetic’s current contract runs till 2016 but is expected to push for a deal to his favorite club Juventus.
According to Italian newspaper Gazetta dello Sport, the Montenegro international is set to meet Foirentina President Andrea delle Valle to request a transfer to the reigning Italian champions. Arsenal were believed to be strongly interested in the young striker but the player’s decision to opt for a move to Juventus would deal a big blow to their hopes of acquiring his services.
However, the Turin side’s interest in the striker might fade away if they succeed in signing Arsenal star Robin Van Persie which would subsequently open the gates for the Gunners to steal Jovetic.
