Sao Paolo rule out Moura sale to United

Sao Paolo Director of Football has told Manchester United to forget about signing Lucas Moura after revealing that the player has decided to stay on for another season.

Sir Alex Ferguson has shown great desire to sign the young Brazilian and had a bid of £25m rejected earlier. The Devils were rumored to be considering another improved offer but the Sao Paolo Director has openly claimed that all their attempts would be meaningless since Moura has decided to stay.

Moura, who is currently on international duty at the London Games, was keen on a move to the Premier League but the sudden change in heart has been welcomed by fans worldwide who felt that £30m for the Samba teen could be risky business. And now Adalberto Baptista has told ESPN Brazil that Lucas isn’t going anywhere accusing his agent of being the only one interested in a transfer.

“There are no negotiations going on. Everybody knows that we got an offer for him, and rejected it. It’s also known that Lucas doesn’t want to leave. The only person keeping the expectations alive is his agent,” said Baptista.

“The decision is final. There will always be great teams going after great players. This mismatch between the European and Brazilian transfer window makes it hard for national clubs, and we have to deal with that.
