PSG star snubs Arsenal and Liverpool advances

Arsenal and Liverpool’s hopes of landing PSG star Mamadou Sakho were dealt a huge blow after the Frenchman committed his future to the high spending Ligue 1 club.

Managed by former Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti, Paris St. Germain have been one of the biggest spenders in this summer’s transfer market along with European champions Chelsea. The arrivals of Milan duo, Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, could very possible signal the birth of a new footballing powerhouse in Europe. Sakho, 22, has pledged his immediate future to the club based in the French capital and is already dreaming of winning the prestigious Ligue 1 title with the club.

“This season my challenges are big, very big,” he told PSG’s official website.

“The fight for the title is our goal and also to make it big in the Champions League. It is important to build the team, and my aspirations are to stay here.”

Arsenal and Liverpool both have been monitoring the young defender’s situation after it emerged that Sakho might push forth a transfer after the arrival of Thiago Silva. However, their hopes of landing one of the most promising young center backs in the continent has been dealt a knock out blow after he decided to snub their advances to commit his future to the French club.
