Toivonen questions PSV's 'unreasonable' asking price

Ola Toivonen has claimed that PSV‘s asking price €14 million is putting off other clubs from negotiating with the Dutch giants.

The Sweden international revealed earlier this summer that he would be open to a summer transfer, and has since been linked with clubs such as Newcastle United, Borussia Monchengladbach and Rubin Kazan.

However, a transfer has not materialised yet, and the attacker believes the Eredivisie side’s hefty demands are not helping his chances of moving on.

“PSV’s asking price is a bit unreasonable in my opinion,” Toivonen was quoted as saying by Fotbollskanalen.

“Of course, I would like to make the next step in my career. I have always been honest about that. I am keeping my options open.

“However, I would not feel bad about it if I stayed at PSV for another season.”

The 26-year-old has a contract with the Eredivisie giants until June 2014.
