Daniele De Rossi will announce at a press conference on Tuesday that he has snubbed a €39.5 million (£31m) move to Manchester City to stay at Roma, Goal.com has learned.
The Premier League champions have upped their long-standing interest in the Italian international in recent days, culminating in them making two bids for the player.
Sources have told Goal.com that a second City offer was submitted to Roma on Saturday, and the Premier League champions had also prepared an €8.9m- (£7m)-a-year-contract.
But De Rossi has decided to reject City’s interest and stay at the club he joined as a 17-year-old.
