Inter president Massimo Moratti has claimed he is happy to see Giampaolo Pazzini prosper, despite the from Nerazzurri striker’s recent hat-trick for city rivals AC Milan.
The supremo chose to swap the 28-year-old for Antonio Cassano and €7 million, after a season which saw the striker find the back of the net just five times in Serie A.
However, he made an instant impact for his new club, registering a treble in Milan’s 3-1 win over Bologna on Saturday, and Moratti was quick to express his delight for the forward.
“I am happy for him, I saw him play with a smile on his face,” Moratti told reporters after Inter’s 3-1 defeat to Roma on Sunday.
“It was like a nightmare. It is true that it was not a good advertisement for us, but [AC Milan] have found themselves a great striker and I do not mind.
“But we must calm down now.”
