Coritiba have announced on their official website that they have secured the services of Alex on a free transfer.
The Brazilian outfit were keen to add some more experience to their squad, and have now found their man in the 35-year-old attacking midfielder.
“I’ve always dreamed of my return, but I’m insignificant comparing to Coritiba and its supporters. Now we all need to make this dream come true,” the forward stated.
“For all of you that dream about a strong and victorious Coritiba, I ask that you’ll be at Couto Thursday afternoon.”
Alex started his professional career at Coritiba in 1995, and had since worn the jerseys of clubs such as Palmeiras, Flamengo, Parma, Cruzeiro and Fenerbahce.
He had been available on a free ever since leaving the Turkish giants earlier this month.
