As the Chinese league finished this month, Drogba is trying to get permision from Fifa to go on loan until January when the Afcon starts. According to him, he needs to maintain his fitness and the best way to do it is by going on loan.

Fifa statement: “The Fifa administration services are looking into it.” Drogba was linked with Juventus and Chelsea, but under current Fifa regulations he can’t move before January 1 .
His nation team, Cote d’Ivoire, will play in Group D alongside Tunisia, Algeria and Togo of the 2013 Afcon. The first match is agains’t Togo on January 22.
In eleven matches for Shanghai Shenhua he scored 8 goals, and with Chelsea in crisis he could be on his way to England if Fifa approves his request.
