Nicolas Anelka’s agent Fabrizio Ferrari has said the striker is hoping to have a similar impact on Juventus as he has done at numerous other clubs.
Anelka arrives in Italy after a spell at Shanghai Shenhua, who he joined from Chelsea in January last year. The French attacker has signed a six-month loan deal with the league leaders, with an option for a second season.
The 33-year-old has played for several top clubs in Europe and Ferrari believes his move to Juventus represents a new challenge for the player.
“In his career, Anelka has worn the jerseys of the most important clubs in the world like Real Madrid, Chelsea and Arsenal, so now he has arrived at Juventus,” he told TuttoJuve.com.
“This represents a great challenge for Nicolas. He wants to leave his mark in Italy too.”
Anelka has reportedly taken a substantial pay cut to come to Italy, and Ferrari insists the move demonstrates his desire to keep playing at the highest level.
He added: “He is not lacking motivation and the move to Juventus confirms it. He didn’t come to the Bianconeri in order to be a bit-part player, but to put himself in the game and give an important helping hand to the squad.”
