Former AC Milan star Zvonimir Boban believes that Mateo Kovacic will prove to be a great signing for Inter and feels his compatriot has a bright future ahead of him.
Dinamo Zagreb announced on Wednesday that the 18-year-old will move to the Nerazzurri for a fee believed to be in the region of €11 million, and Kovacic will undergo a medical on Thursday before signing a long-term contract with the Serie A giants.
“Inter have done really well to sign him. I didn’t expect this to happen. He’s a great professional, a very serious guy,” Boban told Sky Sport Italia.
“He’s very talented and still has room for improvement. He has immense potential. He is a very complete midfielder who can play in several positions.
“I’d say that he has the potential to become a better player than I was.”
Boban wore the Milan jersey from 1991 until 2002.
