Hannover eye Bittencourt loan

H96 president Martin Kind has admitted his interest in the Dortmund youngster, who has found first-team chances sparing this season

Hannover president Martin Kind has revealed his interest in taking Borussia Dortmund youngster Leonardo Bittencourt on loan.

The 19-year-old moved to Signal Iduna Park from Energie Cottbus last summer, but has found it hard to break into the German champions’ team.

“He is an interesting player. There has been contact,” he said told Bild.

For his part, Bittencourt admitted that he is flattered by H96’s interest in him, but stressed that he was only focused on performing for his club.

“It’s always nice when people speak positively about you. Now I only care about success in the next few weeks with Dortmund,” he said.

“I’m focused on that 100 per cent because there are important games for us coming up.”

Bittencourt scored his first Bundesliga goal in the recent 5-1 win over Freiburg.
