Felipe Santana unsure over future

The Brazilian is eager to represent his country at the World Cup and may leave Borussia Dortmund in search of first-team action

Borussia Dortmund centre-back Felipe Santana has admitted that he might leave the club in search of regular first-team football.

The Brazilian is firmly behind Mats Hummels and Neven Subotic in the pecking order at the Westfalenstadion and with the 2014 World Cup approaching, he wants to boost his chances of an international call-up.

“I am not sure myself about what will happen in the summer,” he told Bild.

“It’s hard to deal with that fact that I only play when Mats or Neven are injured, and it’s my dream to play for Brazil in the World Cup on home soil.

“My agent is doing everything. When the season is over, we’ll have a discussion with [sporting director] Michael Zorc about what is best for both parties.”

The 27-year-old scored the dramatic winner for Dortmund in their 3-2 win over Malaga in midweek, setting up a Champions League semi-final with Real Madrid.

Hamburg are among the clubs said to be in the running for his signature.
