Dino Lamberti has stressed that his client is only interested in staying with Napoli despite losing his place in the side to Blerim Dzemaili following injury
Napoli midfielder Gohkan Inler will not be leaving the club for AC Milan, the player’s agent has confirmed.
Inler had been linked with the Rossoneri in recent weeks after losing his place in the Partenopei side to Blerim Dzemaili, but Dino Lamberti has made it clear that his client’s loyalties lie with Walter Mazzarri’s team.
“Coming back from the Switzerland national team, Gokhan had a foot problem and was in no condition to play,” Lamberti told Radio CRC. “For the good of the team, he was on the bench, and and luckily Dzemaili did well and it is clear now that Mazzarri will not change a midfield that works.
“But there is no need to panic. He will wait his turn and he will prove to be first choice.
“The media often spout some negotiations that may not even exist in reality. Probably Milan can imagine that Gokhan may have problems in Napoli and take their information from that, but he is not even thinking of leaving.
“Gohkan just wants to be at Napoli. My client is a serious guy, he works and waits his turn. Napoli are doing well and, if this continues, they will conquer second place.”
The 28-year-old has made 28 Serie A appearances this season and scored five goals.
