The Eredivisie side confirmed that the 21-year-old will travel to Germany to finalise a deal with the Bundesliga club this weekend
Groningen have accepted a bid from Bundesliga outfit VfB Stuttgart for their Serbia Under-21 striker Filip Kostic.
The Eredivisie side revealed that Kostic will not be in the squad for the club’s opening league match against the Go Ahead Eagles on Sunday and will instead travel to Germany to undergo a medical.
Groningen revealed on their website that the 21-year-old will sign a contract with the Bundesliga club, who narrowly escaped relegation last season, in the coming days although the fee of the deal is unknown.
Kostic has impressed since arriving for €1.2million at Groningen in 2012 and scored 11 goals for the team last term.
